Another Parade

Lots of parades in these Wyoming towns.  This one was for Lovell's "Mustang Days."  Tyler was fairly obsessed with getting candy, while Cash was more interested in watching things go by.  This parade handed out lots of frozen popsicles and even ice cream treats!  We were impressed.

Elmer Fudd?

Mickey Mouse

This makes me shudder....these characters were really creepy!

Just another weekend.

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so."  Mary Jean Irion
All our days lately are full of routines.  Naptimes, lunchtimes, cartoons, yard watering, etc.
And this last weekend Cash dominated the hours with crying, moaning, and being cranky.  This morning the doctor looked at his ear and determined an ear infection....which we already suspected.  Hopefully the antibiotics kick in soon.
So what I may think of as boring, or monotonous, I saw this quote and it made me think differently.  Another normal weekend, full of beauty, family, and fun (except we are exhausted from the all-night crying jags).
How fun to find Cash quietly playing in the laundry room and tearing apart all the clothespins

Stopping to smell the flowers

Deaver Lake, a 20 minute drive down the highway.  They got pounded with rain, all we got was wind and thunder.

Another lake nearby, where the boys like to go fish

Morning Photos

It's 7:45 am and the boys are already outside playing.  They get out there before the wind and the heat, and before I have even had a cup of coffee.

My half-done wine bottle garden.  I only need about 40 more bottles.  Which is a lot when you start to think about it.

Green grass where 2 months ago it was just dirt. And rock.

The back deck, where no one sits because every evening we are too busy, and this time of year the afternoons/evenings are so unsettled that there is wind or thunder or a million mosquitoes.

Happy Fathers Day, and Happy Anniversary

I forgot my camera at home, and Shawn's was out of batteries, so I had to resort to my junky camera phone.  At least I captured some memories of our picnic in the mountains.  We had a lovely afternoon together, aimlessly driving around until we found a patch of flowers to sit in.

A Parade of Mules

There is an event not too far from us, where Mules are the big deal.  There is a mule rodeo, auction, parade, and more.  We went over for the parade, just because it was something to do and we'd never been.

The boys got to ride these ponies around the grass.  They loved it!

Early Summer

At Curt's Cash would have been content to go up and down the ladder and slide all day.  It became a chore, as in "who is going to stand out there with Cash for the next hour?"  At least he was getting exercise, and there are worse things to do than sit outside in beautiful Montana and watch your child have fun.

His preferred method of going down the slide---backwards belly

We had an early ice cream birthday cake

Did I even make a wish?  Can't remember!

Time for some reinforcements.  My corn was all toe-high and this morning I could only find one little blade.  Rabbits or birds are sneaking in after hours, so I will be pulling out the netting and covers today.

A Life Well Lived

We sadly drove to Montana this weekend to attend a funeral of our great friend, Bill.  He was 93 and lived all his days in the same little ranch town, in basically the same house.

It was not a surprise to see how many people came; the population of Helmville probably tripled for the afternoon.  He was a special guy, always with a twinkle in his eye, a jolly story to tell, and a shot of Irish whiskey to share.  We'll miss him but have our memories and his wife Moe to visit.
The driveway full of people going to the luncheon.

A bottle of whiskey was passed with a nod to Bill before each swig.  Moe made sure there was enough to go around...a few times.

Tyler's BFF Wyatt was there, but unfortunately we left the boys with Curt.  Shawn made sure to chat with him for a bit.

Shawn and Casey told some stories to radiant Moe.

All decked out in "Cars" pajamas.  I could hear him saying "SUPERFAST" as he rounded coners.

Garden photo, June 2nd.  I feel it needs a kick in the pants to really get going.

We LOVED the pathways and walkways through town.

Waiting for the horses to come through.  Tyler fit right in with his bike.
